Recipe - Irish Soda Bread

4 cups of flour
2 tsps bicarb soda
1 tsp salt
60g butter, cubed
2 - 2/14 cups buttermilk

Step 1

Preheat oven to 190c. Line a try with baking paper. Sift flour, bicarb soda and salt into a large bowl.

Step 2

Rub in butter. Mix in buttermilk to form a dough. Bring together on a floured surface to form a ball.

Step 3

Shape dough into a 20 cm round. Place on the tray. Cut a cross in the top (not too deep).  Bake for 35 - 45 minutes. Serve with butter and golden syrup.
